Sponsorship payouts

Sponsorship payouts arrive monthly, in full, to the bank account linked to your Heylo group.

Your group is paid every month a sponsorship runs, the full amount in the offer, to the bank account linked to your group. Heylo bills the brand and sends your group its payout, so there is no invoice to write and no payment to chase. Only admins see payouts: open the group tab, select Sponsorships, and they are listed under Payouts.

Monthly payouts

A month's payout is sent once Heylo has approved every deliverable due in that month. Under the Sponsorship Terms, the payout is sent within 60 days of Heylo approving the last of the month's deliverables. One outstanding deliverable holds the whole month's payout, so submit each deliverable by its due date and the payout follows.

A rejected or past due deliverable has to be fixed within 1 week. After that the sponsorship is at risk, and the brand can remove your group from it with no further payment.

Payout status

Under Payouts on the Sponsorships screen, each month's payout shows the brand, the period it covers, the amount, and one status:

The Payouts section of the Sponsorships screen, listing three monthly payouts marked Paid, Processing, and Upcoming

  • Upcoming: scheduled and not yet due.
  • Processing: released and on its way to your bank account.
  • Paid: sent.
  • Needs attention: something is blocking it, such as a missing bank account or an account that is not yet approved for transfers.

When a payout is sent, admins get a Sponsorship payout received notification naming the brand and the amount.

The sponsorship's card shows the state of the current month above the list. It reads Pending with a finish-by date while the month is open, or At risk with the number of overdue deliverables.

Fees

Heylo does not charge a group for their sponsorship payout. If your offer says $600 a month, your group receives $600 a month. The brand pays Heylo's platform fee in addition to that amount.

Sponsorship payouts go to the bank account linked to your group, the same account that receives member payments. If your group has not linked one yet, the Sponsorships screen shows Link a bank account to receive sponsorship payouts. If the account is linked but not yet approved for transfers, it shows Your bank account needs attention in order to receive sponsorship payouts. Sponsorships are priced and paid in US dollars. See Payouts and bank accounts for how to link one.

Taxes

Sponsorship income is income to your group, and how it is treated depends on your group's legal structure and where it operates. See Tax for how Heylo reports payments, and speak to a tax advisor about your group's situation.
