Sponsor a group on Heylo

Send a request from a group's sponsor link, agree on a specific offer with the group, and you are billed only for groups that accept and deliver.

A sponsorship on Heylo is a cash deal between your brand and one or more groups. You pay a monthly amount, and each group delivers what its offer names: an announcement to its members, a social media post, a sponsored event, and/or a link. Your banner runs on the group's profile, its event pages, and its emails to members for the full term. In-kind or free product and logo listings are not supported as sponsorships on Heylo.

Why sponsor through Heylo

Heylo has a direct relationship with every group leader and every member on the platform, and it runs your campaign end to end. You deal with Heylo once, however many groups you sponsor.

  • Contracting: one Campaign Agreement for your brand. Each group signs its own agreement carrying the deliverables it accepted.
  • Invoicing: one payment method covers every group in every campaign. You pay Heylo, never a group directly.
  • Payment: Heylo holds the money and pays each group only after its deliverables are accepted.
  • Tax reporting: Heylo handles tax reporting for the groups, so there are no forms for you to collect.
  • Placements: in-app placements across the group and email placements to its members, run by Heylo for the full term.
  • Verified deliverables: Heylo schedules each deliverable and verifies every submission against the requirements in your offer.
  • Reporting: impressions, reach, clicks, and every submitted deliverable are in the brand dashboard. See Campaign metrics.

From request to live sponsorship

  1. Open a group's sponsor link and send a request, using the steps below.
  2. The group reviews the request and replies with offers for you to select from.
  3. Accept an offer, counter it, or send your own. See Send sponsorship offers.
  4. Sign the Campaign Agreement and link a bank account. See Fund a campaign.
  5. Set your logo, banner, and campaign link so each group can complete its deliverables. See Brand kit.
  6. Follow impressions, reach, and deliverables while the sponsorship runs. See Campaign metrics.

Send a sponsor request

A sponsorship starts from a group's sponsor page at a heylo.com/sponsor address. A group shares that link when it is open to sponsors. The page shows the group's Active members, Avg weekly attendance, and Instagram followers, each marked Verified by Heylo or Self-reported. Prices are not on the page; the group shares pricing in its offers after it approves your request.

The public sponsor page for a group, with its logo, name, description, verified metrics, and the Sponsor group button

  1. On the group's sponsor page, select Sponsor group.
  2. Enter your Work email, a password of at least 8 characters, and confirm it. Select Continue.
  3. On Tell groups about your campaign, enter your brand name, a campaign name, and a campaign description. The logo, link, and photos are optional.
  4. Select Send request.

Your request is sent when the campaign screen opens reading "Request sent", and the group shows Awaiting response until it replies. The group sees your logo, brand name, campaign description, photos, and link. The campaign name is for your team only. Nothing is charged and nothing is signed at this point.

A request expires 7 days after you send it. Heylo emails you when it expires, and you can send the group a new request at any time.

After the group responds

The group can decline, or it can reply with offers for you to select from. Each offer carries a monthly price, a term, and the deliverables the group will run, and it expires 7 days after the group sends it. Your price on an offer is inclusive of Heylo's platform fee. The group receives the payout amount, and the offer shows you both figures.

Send an offer

Accept an offer as it is, modify it with a counter, or send an offer of your own without waiting for the group. Countering or sending your own offer needs a signed Campaign Agreement and a linked bank account first. Building, sending, and revising offers is covered in Send sponsorship offers.

Campaign Agreement

You sign the Campaign Agreement once for your brand, not once per campaign. It appears when you send your own offer or accept a group's offer, and brand admins and editors can sign it. The agreement contains:

  • Groups are proposed, not guaranteed. You are billed only for groups that accept and deliver.
  • A group that does not complete its deliverables in a month is credited to you for the next period, or refunded if the campaign has ended.
  • Figures for reach, impressions, and clicks are good-faith projections from past performance, not guarantees.
  • The agreement runs month to month until either party ends it. There is no minimum term and no notice period.

Signing also acknowledges the Brand Sponsorship Terms. How each accepted group is charged, and how to end a sponsorship, are in Fund a campaign.

Select Sponsor group on any group's sponsor page while signed in, and Heylo goes straight to the campaign screen. Your brand name, logo, Campaign Agreement, and bank account carry over. Sponsoring a new group always starts a new campaign, so enter the campaign details again. To bring a colleague onto your brand, invite them from the brand dashboard rather than signing up again. See Brand team.

Multigroup campaigns with the Heylo team

For a campaign across many groups, the Heylo team can run it with you: sourcing the right groups, custom deliverables, and integrations with your own systems. Heylo sets the campaign up in your brand dashboard, and there is no request to send. Inquire through Heylo for Brands.
