Join us for a special group hike to celebrate East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) Heritage Month! We’ll explore the Bamford Circular, a beautiful 9.5 km route in the Peak District featuring sweeping views over Ladybower Reservoir, Bamford Edge, and the surrounding countryside.
📍 Meeting Point: • Primary: Bamford Train Station • Alternative: closer to Bamford edge if arriving by bus or car
📅 Date & Time: 6th September 11:30-17:30 (Saturday) 🥾 Distance: 9.5 km (~6 miles) 🕒 Duration: Approx. 3.5 hours 📈 Total Ascent: 376 m 💪 Difficulty: Moderate
🚶‍♀️ What to Expect: • A scenic mix of woodland, open moorland, and panoramic views • A relaxed, inclusive pace with time for reflection, connection, and rest • Opportunities to learn, share stories, and enjoy nature together
🚾 Facilities: • Toilets, shops, and pubs are available in Bamford town centre before and after the walk • Additional facilities (toilets and pubs) available mid-route when we descend from Bamford Edge near Ladybower Reservoir
♻️ Travel Sustainably: We encourage using public transport where possible. Share your travel plans in the group chat to help others coordinate!
🔗 Getting to Bamford:

💬 Travel Bursaries Available: We’re offering travel bursaries to help reduce barriers to the outdoors. Priority may go to those with greater need if sign-ups are high. Please reach out if travel costs or other concerns might prevent you from joining. Make sure keep your recipes for the trip! Reimbursement details will be shared after the event.
🌟 What to Bring: Comfortable footwear (ideally sturdy waterproof walking boots), layered clothing, water, packed lunch, snacks, sun protection if it’s sunny.
A weather update will be shared closer to the event to help us pack.
Feel free to ask any questions in the group chat or DM me.
