About the Event and Club
We will be cruising down the historic American Tobacco Trail, following the same path where trains once hauled tobacco leaf through North Carolina's heartland.
We’re meeting up at the American Tobacco Trail - New Hope Church Road Crossing. This section of the trail offers a fantastic stretch of greenery and a smooth path, making it an ideal starting point for our journey. Remember to come hydrated, get those stretches in, and pack a light snack to keep your energy up while we ride.
This is a bring-your-own-bike event. If you don't have one, there are rental spots within the surrounding area.
You're responsible for your own flat repairs, but I’ll have a pump and hex keys ready at the start! There should be repair stations along the trail also.

About the Trail
The American Tobacco Trail is a beautiful recreational rail-trail that lives on the old Norfolk Southern Railroad corridor. Built originally in 1906, these tracks once connected farming communities across Wake, Chatham, and Durham counties to the massive American Tobacco Company factory.
As the years went by, trains were replaced by trucks, and the tracks were eventually removed. Thanks to local citizens and the Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy, this historic route was saved and transformed into the managed trail we enjoy today. The New Hope Church Road crossing provides a scenic gateway to this history, surrounded by lush landscapes and a peaceful atmosphere.
The ride is a fantastic way to experience a piece of the region's history while getting some fresh air and exercise. I can't wait to see you all out there!
