You just moved to one of the best places in the world for outdoor recreation. Make sure you have the knowledge, community, and tools to get out there and enjoy the Seattle winter!
Mountains, water, and endless green space are all right here waiting to be explored—and winter is one of the most exciting seasons to get outside near Seattle.
Whether you’re curious about trying downhill skiing or snowshoeing for the first time, looking for casual ways to recreate outdoors close to home like walking groups or cold plunge collectives, or are ready to build a community around a love of winter camping, this event is your invitation to make the most of Seattle winter.
Newcomers only please! If you’ve already experienced a Welcome Day or have lived here more than three years, let the newcomers get first dibs.
Join 100 outdoor recreation enthusiasts at a joyful, activity-based evening where you will build connections and leave with real momentum towards building a life in Seattle that is rooted in activity and community.
What to expect:

Meet other people interested in outdoor recreation who moved to the city recently (new friends!)
•
Take part in fun activities designed to spark connection
•
Learn about opportunities to get involved with outdoor recreation and adventure organizations ahead of the Seattle winter
Leave with a personalized roadmap for your connected life in Seattle—plus a beautifully designed Seattle Journal (a $25 value) to help you track your journey and connections along the way
Come at 6:00 PM to grab dinner from local food trucks and mingle before programming begins at 6:30. You’re welcome to bring your own food, too—what matters is showing up.
Welcome Day is hosted by Charlotte Massey and Aaron Hurst
Charlotte is the Founder and Executive Director of the Seattle Chamber of Connection, Founder of the Seattle Picnic Society, a Forbes 30 Under 30 Seattle honoree, and a nationally recognized leader in creative community-building.
Aaron is Founder & CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Connection, a best-selling author and globally respected expert on purpose and civic connection, known for helping people and organizations build meaningful lives.
Our team of grassroots community organizers and connection experts designed Welcome Day to be an inspiring, practical, and energizing launch point for your Seattle story.
