About
PIEDMONT TRIADS POETS & INDIE AUTHORS ALLIANCE is a poets, spoken word poets, indie authors community. We are proud supporters of local arts councils within the Alamance, Guilford and Davidson counties in various ways.
We are also a community where editors,proofreaders,publishers and local arts organizations can join and connect with group members.
Members will meet in person or virtually share their work online by means of Streamyard,ZOOM or Google meet for a more personal online experience. All members have the right to create at will their own events or post information about local opportunities such open mics, local book fairs/festivals for other community members.
Members also will have the opportunity to share and engage with audiences in places like local bookstores, coffee shops and other venues within Alamance, Guilford and Davidson counties as such events are announced to the group.
Alliance members collaborating with each other under the banner of PIEDMONT TRIADS POETS & INDIE AUTHORS ALLIANCE is a win for us as an artist community and for the arts communities where we live because through the power of collaboration WE assist in keeping the writing and speaking arts alive where live.

Members can request via email to appear on Alfred’s podcast to promote their work. There’s no fee to appear and the member will receive either an audio file of the interview or at least short video for personal promotion.
Their appearance is livestreamed on Alfred’s YouTube podcast channel LIFE IS ABOUT MORE THAN LIVING https://www.youtube.com/@lifeisaboutmorethanliving; their guest appearance will available as an audio podcast upon platforms such as Spotify,Apple podcast,Amazon Music and IHeartRadio.
Appearance upon the podcast is subject to Alfred’s availability.
This alliance was founded by Alfred Harrell, the founder and former lead organizer of Triad Poetry Meetup 2005-2010.

Alliance membership requirements
18 years old to join however individuals ages 13 to 17 years of age can participate in events
Pay the current annual membership fee. The fee is subject to change due a waiver or joining promotional
Participate or attend in at least one group sanctioned program within a 6 six month period. This rule does not apply to programs or events of non-group event vendors.
Join a Heylo group per https://www.heylo.com/policy is 18 years old however children are allowed to attend with a parent or guardian.
