The Portland Gay/LGBT Christian Meetup Group is a group for anyone interested in a community of followers of Christ, who are also gay/LGBT. This group seeks to support LGBT Christians in their faith with friendship, support, community, and encouragement as we seek to engage our faith together. We provide a variety of opportunities to interact together through dinners, game nights, events, Bible studies, hikes and conversation groups. In consideration of the social and religious tensions that many of this group's members may have encountered, and recognizing the broad diversity this group represents, all members who participate in this group understand that: 1. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and as such are certain to approach life differently. We seek to listen, respect, understand, learn from, and engage each other in an effort to grow together as individuals and as a community. 2. We attempt to create events that will accommodate people's schedules and transportation needs, but to further these attempts, we ask for members to also take initiative in order to help our community to grow. Members are also strongly encouraged to email us and suggest group activities and events.

Our group is for "affirming" Gay/LGBT people who are seeking a closer relationship with Jesus alongside a community. We love our allies, but this group is only for LGBT people. Additionally, new members are not allowed to reach out to other members via direct message on this app to flirt, or pursue any kind of romantic relationships. Please come in person to Bible studies or events to meet other members.
