Welcome to The Mango Grove
If you plant a mango tree, you have to be patient. It takes time to grow and bear fruit, but eventually it becomes a place where the neighborhood can gather in the shade. That is the exact idea behind this group.
I started this space to build a relaxed, grounded community for Indians, the diaspora, and anyone who appreciates the culture. I was looking for a true village feel. To me, that means a community that actually belongs to its members, rather than one controlled by a few admins at the top.
There are no bosses or dictators here. I am just acting as the groundskeeper to keep the page running. The direction of the group is up to the people in it. Decisions are made democratically, and any member is welcome to step up and host an outing. If you want to plan a dinner, a park day, a board game night, or just a casual meetup for tea, the floor is yours.
To keep the dynamic right, this group is for adults 21 and over. We don't have stressful attendance policies or mandatory questionnaires. We just ask for mutual respect and a democratic mindset. True community takes time to build, so there is no rush and no pressure.
Come pull up a chair. We look forward to hanging out.
