Mad Miles Run Club Membership Code of Conduct
The Mad Miles Membership program is designed to foster a deeper connection among fellow Mad Milers by providing a foundational experience rooted in mutual support, camaraderie, and personal growth. Through active participation, financial contributions, and volunteer efforts, our members contribute to the continued success of the club and its outreach initiatives. Together, we are committed to building a stronger community that empowers individuals, supports local causes, and creates opportunities for personal and collective progress. As a Mad Miler, you are not just part of a running club; you are part of a movement dedicated to making a positive impact both on and off the pavement.
To maintain this atmosphere, we ask that all members adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Respect for Others
• Treat all members, volunteers, and guests with respect, kindness, and courtesy. Every individual deserves to feel valued, regardless of their running ability, background, gender, race, or personal beliefs.
• Respect each other’s personal space and comfort zones. Everyone's journey and pace are unique—encourage and support one another without judgment.
• Maintain good sportsmanship at all times, especially during group runs, events, and competitions.
2. Zero Tolerance for Violence, Harassment, and Discrimination
• Violence of any kind (physical, verbal, or emotional) will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to physical aggression, threatening behavior, or intimidation.
• Harassment of any form, including sexual harassment, bullying, or inappropriate comments, is strictly prohibited.
• Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, or any other protected status is unacceptable.
• Any behavior that endangers the safety or well-being of another member will result in immediate disciplinary action, which may include suspension or expulsion from the club.
3. Health and Safety
• Safety is a priority. Follow all guidelines set by the club regarding running routes, weather conditions, and personal health.
• Respect the safety measures in place, such as wearing appropriate gear (reflective clothing, lights, etc.) and following traffic rules when running.
• Refrain from behavior that endangers yourself or others, such as reckless running, pushing, or ignoring safety protocols.
4. Filing a Complaint
• If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to file a complaint. All complaints will be taken seriously and handled confidentially.
• To file a complaint, please email info@madmilesrunclub.com or submit a written report to any club leader. Be as detailed as possible about the incident, including names, dates, and a description of what occurred.
All complaints will be reviewed by club leadership, and appropriate actions will be taken. Retaliation against those who file complaints is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
5. Disciplinary Action
• The club reserves the right to take immediate disciplinary action if a member is found to have violated this Code of Conduct.
• Disciplinary actions may range from a verbal or written warning to suspension or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the violation.
Members may appeal disciplinary actions by submitting a written request to the club leadership within 10 days of the decision. The appeal will be reviewed, and a final decision will be communicated.
