About
Run Talk Run exists to make both mental health support and running more accessible and less intimidating. An all-ability 5km (jog, run or walk) designed to facilitate a safe space to talk about mental health and how we are really feeling with a bunch of kind people who "get it" :) All head spaces are welcomed: mental health support first, running second.
If you are thinking about coming along for the first time but are worried about the running, or the conversations, here's some info that may be reassuring. Our run is a gentle one - if we walk for a bit then that’s fine (and it can be easier to talk and listen that way too!). And as much as conversations around mental health are encouraged and expected, there is no pressure to talk about anything you don’t want to, as we understand that talking about our mental health can be difficult and scary. If you want to come along and just listen to the other runners, you will be welcome all the same. If you have any questions at all please contact us via the website
runtalkrun.com
or our Instagram @runtalkrun or @runtalkrunexeter.
We run as a group either down by the river Exe (the flat route in spring and summer) or on a loop around the city (autumn and winter, which has a few more ups and downs). We also hold a monthly social event on the last Thursday of each month, where we go for a drink and/or some food after our run.
We looking forward to meeting you soon!
