This is a biweekly event, so if you can't make this instance, you can catch the next one! Please message me if you have any questions or concerns.
❗Some notes and tips❗ 🏔️ It’s okay to be nervous! The walls can be intimidating but Vertical World emphasizes safety. Here are Vertical World’s rules and guidelines:
https://seattle.verticalworld.com/climbing/rules-policies-and-guidelines/
🏔️ Be prepared to climb! Bring a water bottle, and, if possible, trim your nails as that will help with grabbing holds. It may be HOT, as the gym does not have central air conditioning but has giant fans for circulation - dress accordingly. 🏔️ Don’t have gear? VW rents out shoes for $7 and harnesses for $5. 🏔️ If you have never been to a Vertical World gym, you will need to sign a waiver. 🏔️ If you’ve never top roped before, you can climb with a person that has taken the belay test. 🏔️ If you haven’t been to Vertical World within the last 8 months and want to belay or lead climb, you will need to take a belay and/or lead test with a staff member, so please consider arriving a little earlier to take the test. 🏔️ If you want to lead climb, please make sure someone that is joining has a gym rope (I don’t have one anymore 🫠). 🏔️ If you get tired of top roping, VW has a smaller bouldering area where we can migrate. 🏔️ It may be crowded! If it’s too much or we’re struggling to get on routes, we can call it and try a different time. And Figurehead Brewing is around the corner, so grabbing a beer is always a possibility 🍻.
Donation: In the month of November, Club Cascadia has turned on the “donation” feature on all Heylo events and accepting optional donations by members to support local food banks. If you have a question, contact your event’s Host or CC’s Leadership Liv Frances & Alida Hammond. Thank you!
Note: Club Cascadia events are primarily for women and non-binary folks in the Seattle area, though we occasionally host co-ed events—those will be clearly marked. Keep an eye out!
Photo/Video Release: By registering and/or Waitlisting for this Club Cascadia event, you consent to having your photo or video taken, shared on public social platforms, and used for marketing purposes. If you would prefer not to have your picture or video taken, please let Jackie know onsite.
Hold Harmless Agreement: You understand and agree that you are attending the event and do not hold Jackie Tseng or Club Cascadia affiliates liable for any damages or injuries you may incur during it.
