Join GVL Roots & Routes: Black Hikers for an unforgettable adventure to Raven Cliff Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in South Carolina!
Located within Caesars Head State Park, this scenic trail takes hikers through beautiful mountain forests, towering hardwood trees, and peaceful wilderness before reaching an incredible overlook of the 420-foot Raven Cliff Falls.
Along the way, we'll experience rolling terrain, rocky pathways, exposed roots, and several moderate climbs as we make our way through the Blue Ridge foothills.
Our destination is the Raven Cliff Falls overlook, where we'll enjoy breathtaking views of the waterfall cascading down the mountainside. This is a perfect opportunity to take photographs, enjoy a well-deserved break, and appreciate the natural beauty surrounding us.
Although this hike is considered moderate to strenuous, it is a rewarding adventure for hikers who are comfortable navigating uneven terrain and elevation changes.
With autumn coming to an end, we'll have an opportunity to enjoy the crisp mountain air, changing landscape, and the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.
What to Bring: Comfortable hiking shoes or boots, at least 2 liters of water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothing, and trekking poles if needed.
Safety Note: The trail contains exposed roots, rocks, and uneven surfaces that may become slippery after rainfall. Please remain on designated trails and use caution near steep drop-offs.
Parking Information: Caesars Head State Park charges a trail access fee of $3 per adult. Parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, especially during the busy fall season.
