Join GVL Roots & Routes: Black Hikers for a relaxing adventure at Wildcat Wayside, one of Upstate South Carolina's hidden natural treasures!
Located along the scenic Cherokee Foothills Highway, this short but beautiful trail features cascading waterfalls, flowing streams, and peaceful forest surroundings.
Our adventure begins near the lower waterfalls before continuing along a wooded trail featuring stone steps, exposed roots, and gentle elevation changes. Along the way, we'll enjoy views of Wildcat Branch, beautiful rock formations, and the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge foothills.
Although relatively short, the trail offers a few moderately steep sections and uneven terrain. This hike is ideal for beginners, families, and experienced hikers looking for a peaceful outdoor experience.
We'll take our time enjoying the waterfalls, capturing photographs, and connecting with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
What to Bring: Comfortable hiking shoes, water, a light snack, and weather-appropriate clothing. Trekking poles are optional.
Safety Note: Some rocks and steps may be slippery, especially near the waterfalls. We will remain on designated open trails and avoid restricted areas.
