About
Walk summary
This walks starts and finishes at Ferry Meadows Country Park Visitor Centre and completes a 3.5 mile loop around the park and neighbouring farmland. It's an easy and mostly flat walk around lakes, along the river and through Bluebell Woods.
This event is for plus size people of all genders to create a safe and inclusive space. We do not set a size restriction on this, but if you are smaller than a size 18/2XL we would ask you to consider if there might be other groups that you could attend.
Route description
The planned route is 3.5 miles, and is flat with very little elevation and is easy going. There's a mix of surfaces - we'll take a paved path around the lakes, then the board walk through the woods and along the river, and some grass/mud sections across fields before returning to the paved path along the lakes for the final section.

More info
We will meet outside the Ferry Meadows Visitor Centre which is just round the corner from the main car park for the country park. Parking is £4.50 for 3 hours. There are gendered and gender neutral toilets in the vicinity of the visitor centre and a gender neutral accessible toilet (one requires a radar key). We will also pass toilets at the Watersports Centre about 3/4 of the way through the walk. These are gendered with an accessible option. Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on a lead for sections of the walk which may include livestock and will include two level crossings. We will be going at a gentle pace that will work for everyone, and nobody will be left behind. The walk will be led with this in mind and numbers will be capped. You should bring all clothing and kit that you need for the weather - including sturdy footwear, a waterproof jacket and warm layers. Please bring any food or snacks you need for a walk of this length, and plenty of water. There's a cafe at the start/end of the walk, and a cafe at the watersports centre about 3/4 of the way through the walk. Our walks are all volunteer run. If your plans change and you are no longer able to attend the walk, please email
hello@everybodyoutdoors.co.uk
to cancel your space so we can let the volunteer know and open up your space to others.
