Een WAMPEX kan worden getypeerd als een nachtelijke wandel-/puzzeltocht met opdrachten onderweg.
De totale juiste lengte van de tocht bedraagt ca. 25km.
Een ‘expeditie’ in het weekend met land- en waterelementen.
De tocht wordt te voet afgelegd vanaf een startplaats waarvan je de gegevens één week voorafgaande aan de tocht ontvangt. Je moet zo’n 45 minuten voor de start aanwezig zijn.
Nieuwe groepen adviseren we een uur tot anderhalf uur van te voren aanwezig te zijn. Je wordt ontvangen met koffie en dan kun je je voorbereiden op de tocht. Bij de start hangen diverse voorbeelden van routes en ezelsbruggetjes die je onderweg nodig hebt. Ook wordt er vaak gebruik gemaakt van een video of een computerpresentatie.
De route is cryptisch omschreven en er wordt veel met het kompas gewerkt.
Onderweg leuke en spannende opdrachten! Vlotvaren, touwbruggen, tokkelen etc.
Er is een gezellige ‘chocopost’ onderweg.
De tocht wordt voor zover mogelijk gehouden door landerijen en mooie natuurgebieden in of nabij Friesland. Aan de finish is er snert of koffie. Tevens ontvang je een vaantje als herinnering aan de WAMPEX.

A WAMPEX can be described as a night-time hiking and puzzle trek featuring challenges along the way.
The total length of the trek is approximately 25 km.
It is a weekend ‘expedition’ incorporating both land and water elements.
The trek is undertaken on foot, starting from a location the details of which are provided one week in advance. You must arrive about 45 minutes before the start.
We advise new groups to arrive an hour to an hour and a half early. You will be welcomed with coffee and given time to prepare for the trek. At the starting point, examples of routes and the mnemonic aids needed along the way are displayed. A video or computer presentation is also frequently used.
The route is described cryptically, and compass navigation plays a major role.
There are fun and exciting challenges along the way, such as rafting, rope bridges, zip-lining, and more.
There is a pleasant ‘hot chocolate stop’ en route.
As far as possible, the trek takes place across farmland and through beautiful nature reserves in or near Friesland. At the finish line, snert (thick split-pea soup) or coffee awaits. You will also receive a commemorative pennant as a memento of the WAMPEX.
