or via Heylo. A circular walk in the Eastern Ochils including the 345m Tumpbeag of Warroch Hill and 355m Sub-tump of Ledlanet Hill.
We could also optionally include the 259m Tump of Drumgarland Hill (though that may require climbing a locked deer gate) and the 298m summit of the unclassified Arlick Hill.
The Eastern Ochils are much less frequented than the busy hills further west and a large area is given over to forestry. Our route is planned to make use of trodden footpaths where possible rather than using the forest roads. Although our starting point is a popular dog walking area, once away from this area it is quite possible that we may not meet any other walkers.
If it is not a good day we could do a shorter walk that includes Warroch Hill and Ledlanet Hill but includes an "out and back" section rather than a circuit. This option is about 8 miles with just 340m of ascent. We can decide either on the day or the night before.
As is usual when we are in this area we will no doubt be visiting Mona's of Muckhart for post-walk cake.
Distance: approx 9.5 miles
Ascent: approx 400m
Terrain: Mostly on Forest / estate tracks and unsurfaced paths. Fire break walking (unlikely to be a path) required to reach Warroch Hill summit, though you could miss the summit and stay on the track if you want.
Grade: Bronze / Silver - see grading information at https://fifeoutandabout.weebly.com/walk-grades.html
