Fco is short for Francisco and he is a self-taught artist who lives in San Jose at the moment. His work is a vibrant testament to the transformative power of art and personal resilience.
Inspired by the introspective and external challenges of life. Relying on his innate talent, unwavering consistency and resourceful approach, he is able to achieve chaotic controlled works of art by channelling his experiences into brightly colored murals, paintings and on some occasions mixed media sculptures.
Francisco's art is more than a profession; it is a lifeline, a means of expressing his journey and fostering hope and curiosity. Each brushstroke is a reflection of his dedication and a celebration of his existence.
No one really teaches us the wheres and hows of maneuvering thought life with a bag of feelings while processing collected grief, due to attachments of any kind. “it can be a lifetime commitment” not my word but I can understand. The paintings I share with you are fragmented thoughts of my life.
They are moments of despair and disillusion, particularly disorienting and often unsettling experiences. They can however become the catalyst to a new creation, to explore and experiment with different materials to achieve unpredictable results, which you’ll see in my backgrounds. To give more context, I dive into the details of my memories to find motifs that bring a sense of safety, I proceed with the intention of giving my creations emotional landscapes. I enjoy this organic process of playing with colors, textures and emotions and I have gathered paintings for this show to display that.
These are Fragments of my thoughts with a spontaneous approach whether to say something through recurring themes like hummingbirds, butterflies, horizons and hearts or simply to have fun. To me these are symbols that represent new beginnings, resilience, hope and identity and I can hope that you will connect with these paintings with a different perspective that’s true to you, thank you.
