Come for a scenic ride around western Kitsap Peninsula. This is a favorite route created by our late friend Eli Robinson, and features hallmarks of his adventurous riding style: scenic views, remote terrain, gravel, ferries, and tacos.

We will catch the 10:05am Fast Ferry from the Seattle Ferry Terminal. (yes, really, we will catch that ferry and not a later one... even though Eli might). Kitsap Fast Ferries are from a separate dock on the south side of the pier.
The ride begins in Bremerton and travels across the Kitsap Peninsula and along the Hood Canal with views of the Olympic Mountains. The 3mi section of packed gravel is passable with a road bike though a gravel bike is recommended. An inland paved route exists between Dewatto and Tahuya, or shortcut from Dewatto to Sunbeach (but without the coastal views).
The route is remote so bring snacks! Rest stops with food:
•
Camp Union (at 15mi) Grocery/Pizzeria/Saloon
•
Belfair (at 60mi) for tacos at 'La Oaxaquena' or 'El Guero #2'
Return Ferries (Bremerton-Seattle):
5:30-6:00pm Kitsap Fast Ferry
(5:30-6:30pm WSDOT Ferry)
(6:40-7:40pm WSDOT Ferry)
6:50-7:20pm Kitsap Fast Ferry

Eli was an OCC member who tragically passed away in a ski accident earlier this year. Eli's legacy includes leading and participating in many OCC years during his years living in Seattle, until he and his partner Andrew moved to Durango, CO in 2024. He was known for finding new and challenging routes to lead and explore our region - like this one! He was known for his spontaneous, positive, and friendly attitude toward everyone he rode with. To honor his memory we will ride a portion of this with no gloves and no sunglasses :)
