Orcas Island is home to Mt Constitution and one of the best hill climbs in the state. On a clear day from the top of Mt Constitution you can see well into Canada and down most of Puget Sound. The scenery on the island itself and from the ferry is also spectacular. The ferry serves to limit cars on the island and make this a really amazing place to cycle.
This is a bit of a choose your adventure route. The full route includes most of the island. If you don't want to climb Mt Constitution or just want a shorter (~20 miles total) more leisurely day, that is entirely possible by stopping in Eastsound and enjoying the village.
To avoid the heat we will meet at the Anacortes ferry terminal at 7a (!!) for the 725a non-stop ferry to Orcas. Paid parking is available at the ferry terminal. Free parking in Anacortes if you want to add a few miles there.
