We will once again head to the Newberry National Volcanic Monument to enjoy its natural beauty.
We’ll meet at 8:45 am at The Hamptons Inn & Suites in Bend and head south on Hwy 97 for the 45-minute drive to the area. We'll take in the Paulina Creek Falls overlook before heading to the top of Paulina Peak with its stunning views.
Next, we'll hike the seven-mile trail around Paulina Lake. (Those opting for a shorter hike can turn around at any point.) We'll stop along the way for lunch (pack your own).
Please note: A recreation pass is needed to access all parts of Newberry National Volcanic Monument. You can use the Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass. Otherwise, it is $5 for a day pass, which can be purchased on-site.
