Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we explore Duder Regional Park in East Auckland.

This scenic coastal loop combines rolling farmland, dramatic peninsula viewpoints, and quiet beaches, with sweeping views across the Hauraki Gulf. Highlights include a side trip to the historic Whakakaiwhara Pā for panoramic vistas, a relaxed beach lunch stop, and a varied return through sheltered valleys, wetlands, and native coastal bush.
Duration: About 4 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 6 - 8 km.
Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Cost for Car Poolers: $15 - Please pay the driver your car pooling contribution in cash at Freemans Bay, otherwise you may not be able to come.
Toilets: Located at the Regional Park car park

🟡 Walk Description & Directions:
Start with the Farm Loop (Red Markers) from the main car park taking you along the high points of the farm for expansive views of the coastline and grazing sheep. Detour to Whakakaiwhara Pā (Blue Markers) about halfway along the Farm Loop running east to the tip of the peninsula. Visit the historic Māori Pā site to see ancient defensive ditches and panoramic ocean views. Return via Karaka Trail (Orange Markers) or Kowhai Loop (yellow markers).
