About
This event has been a big success during the last 5 years so we will do it again this year.
On Saturday we will kayak pretty much all day. On Sunday we will do a hike for those who are interested. Last year we hiked around the beautiful Franklin Parker Reserve.
If you want to come then please do not just click ‘maybe’. Contact me to check whether you need to book a site or whether I can pair you up with someone who has booked. If you book a tent spot site book it via the link below at the Atsion Family campground. Check-in on June 19 for 2 nights for $55 (unless you are NJ resident; then you can get it a bit cheaper):

When on this page minimize the picture until you see the Atsion Family campground on the top right. Then move it to the middle of the screen and enlarge it so you can see the loop where we should be (spots AFC35-50). The more spots we have close to each other the less complaints we will have. Or you can try to call them and they will book a site for you. Use tel #: (609) 561-0024.
Once you have booked a site let me know by sending me a PM or text message and I will match you up with someone who has not booked a site (each site can contain 2 tents).
Please check with me before booking a site whether I can match you up with someone who already has booked a site. I booked site #50 (by the time I booked our favorite spots (47 & 48) had been booked.... We can have 2 tents per spot. Each spot is $55 for the weekend, so it is $27.50 per tent. Try to book any spot from #43 - #50. Please book 46-50 first. All these were available and are close to each other when I booked #50. Note that you can bring a partner who stays in your tent; just let me know. This campground has flush toilets, showers and potable water. In NJ you are also not 'allowed' to consume alcohol on their campgrounds but this might be the most beautiful campground in all of NJ according to this website:
https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/.../most-beautiful.../
The kayaking/canoeing will be done with this outfit on Saturday at 9:30am on 6/20:

Please book the 5hr Mullica River paddle trip here:
https://www.pinelandsadventures.org/.../mullica-river-5.../
It will be $64.19 for the kayak and the transportation. This trip is so much fun! You can bring your own kayak but it should not be longer than 15' and it cannot be an inflatable one. Do not book a double kayak!!
More about these trips can be found here:

On Sunday morning after breakfast and tearing down the tents we may do a 6.7 mile hike in the Franklin Parker Preserve (21 minutes from the campsite) for those who are interested. There is a nice loop that is highly rated called the Franklin Parker Green Trail (we'll park at 39.813510, -74.547780).

A great book to read to learn more about this area is 'The Pine Barrons' by John McPhee.
