City Hike: Discovery Park Exploration 🚶🌈

Hi friends! April is bat shit crazy for me, travelling four different times for work, so planning events will be challenging. (Reminder that I’d love to have other event hosts plan events.). But . . . I just got back in town, noticed it’s going to be beautiful tomorrow, so I thought an easy trip to Discovery Park would be nice.
I created a 5.5(ish) mile loop that includes most of the Discover Park Loop trail, a quick tour of the historic military area, the waterfront and the lighthouse, and of course we can meander anywhere we like in the huge park. You can preview the AllTrails trail map I created below.
We’ll meet at the Discovery Park Visitor’s Center (closed until Summer 2027) in the East Parking Lot at 3801 Discovery Park Blvd. See Google Maps link below.
The East Parking Lot is a small parking lot, and parking will probably not be available in this lot, however this is our meeting spot to start the hike. Arrive early enough to street park off West Government Way as mentioned below and walk here.
Agenda:

1:15pm (latest): Find parking and walk to Discovery Park Visitor’s Center (Google Maps link below)

1:30pm: Meet at Discovery Park Visitor’s Center (Google Maps link below)

1:35pm: Start hike
•
4:30pm (estimated): End hike
•
4:35pm: Optional snack, dessert, early dinner somewhere if you like

I generally park on a side street off West Government Way such as 34th, 33rd, etc. as the parking lots are often full. However, I will pull into the East Parking Lot first to see if there’s a spot, and if not I’ll find street parking as mentioned above.

Plans change and hangovers happen, so no worries at all if you can't make it, but if you RSVP yes, please change your response in the system or text me directly on the day of the event if you cannot join so we aren't waiting on you.

A group photo will be taken that will be used on the Heylo site and potentially social media by the various people in the group. If you don’t want your photo used, please don’t join the group photo. (Or let me know privately later and I can cover, blur or swap your face in the photo.)
