Battle on the Beach LIII, Quads Sand Volleyball Tournament
Date: Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time: 8:30 - 12:30
Format: Quads
Pool play and then elimination bracket. Men’s net.
First place prize - First place medals in addition to the $50 refund and names on trophy.
Second place prize - Second place medals in addition to the $50 refund
Third place prize - Third place medals in addition to the $50 refund
Players must arrive by 8:25. First serve at 8:55.
Cost: FREE ($50 to hold spot. Registration fee returned upon attendance.)
Location: Ocean Beach, San Francisco, Stairwell #17
1001 Great Highway (across from the Dutch windmill and Beach Chalet)
Parking at the beach, bathrooms close by
Game format:
Pool play for seeding then teams placed in elimination bracket
Open hand serve receiving is a fault. (CBVA 15.9). You may open hand serve receive first touch. (CBVA 12.4)
In pool play games to 15 straight up. Rally scoring, switch at 7.
In the tournament round play to 21, win by two. Rally scoring, switch at 7.
Call your own net violations
No finger tipping (CBVA 12.4). Balls rebounding off the palm or heel of your hand (roll shots, cuts, etc) are acceptable.
A block now counts as a touch. (CBVA 17.4)
DEADLINE TO REGISTER: One day before game day, April 3, 2026.
If your team arrives later than 8:40 your team may be replaced by a team on the waitlist and you will have to wait until 11:00 to play in the tournament bracket.
