Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we travel north to Wenderholm Regional Park to explore.
🟡 Some words to Inspire you: Join us this Sunday for a stunning coastal circuit through Wenderholm and Waiwera. We’ll start from the main carpark toilets and head out clockwise along the Te Akeake Walk to the sandbar, taking in the estuary views before making our way toward historic Couldrey House.
From there, we’ll climb the Maungatauhoro Te Hikoi Track, turn right near the top onto Couldrey House Track, then left onto Puhoi Track down through the forest to the Waiwera River. We’ll continue left along the riverbank to peaceful Kokoru Bay for a relaxed lunch stop.
After lunch, we’ll return along the coastline to Wenderholm Beach, finishing the day with an AGT after‑function at the Sugarloaf Bar in Waiwera.
Duration: About 3-4 hours hike including stops. Distance: Approx 7-9 km. Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes. Toilets: At the Start
High Tide: 10.32 Low Tide: 3.41pm
🟡 Costs: Carpoolers: $10 - Please pay the driver cash at Freemans Bay, otherwise you may not be able to come.

 We extend a warm welcome to newcomers, and we kindly request a $5 donation to support our website and enhance the safety of our group.

 Care must be taken walking along the coastline - rocks maybe slippery.
🟡 Health and Safety Information:
 All Auckland Global Trekkers organisers work on a strictly voluntary basis and hold NO responsibility or liability for any injury, or loss suffered during the events organised.
Each person who participates accepts responsibility for making their own determinations and for their own safety, conduct and well being; recognising that there are hazards in attending group and outdoor activities and agrees to participate solely at their own risk.

 Carpooling will be arranged for everyone meeting at Wellington Street. Best efforts, no guarantees. Just ANSWER the RSVP question.

 09:45 - Good Time to meet at FREEMANS BAY 10:00 - Car Pooling organised and leave
10:45 - All arrive at Wenderholm Regional Park, Meet by the toilets
10:50 - Introductions and hike starts 13:00 - Lunch at Kokoru Beach
15:00 - Hike Finishes.
15:15 - 16:15 - Sugarloaf Beach Bar (Optional) 17:15 - Arrive back at CBD

🟡 Walk Description & Directions: Starting from the carpark toilets do a clockwise circuit to the sandbar - Te Akeake Walk. Find your way to Coldrey House and take the Maungatauhoro Te Hikoi Track, turn right near the top onto Couldrey House Track, left onto Puhoi Track down to Waiwera River, turn left and walk to Kororu Bay for lunch.
After lunch take the coastline back to Wenderholm Beach

 Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
 Comfortable shoes suitable for a variety of terrains. Sun protection and emergency rain gear. Personal first-aid items

 Safety and togetherness are our priorities. We will make stops at all track junctions to ensure the group stays together.
Punctuality is key, and we will depart on time, so please be prompt.
