Have you ever wanted to walk on Lake Cascade? Now’s your chance.
We will walk approx. 4.5 miles on Lake Cascade and around Sugarloaf Island with zero elevation gain. I will be wearing ice crampons.
Will need at least 3 vehicles with all wheel or four-wheel drive. The hike will probably be about 2 - 2 1/2 hours long. Will go to lunch in Cascade afterwards.
BRING: Ice Crampons or snowshoes, warm clothes, layering, water, snack, sunscreen, hat, trek poles, etc. Bring comfortable shoes to change into afterwards.
All times below are approximate.
7:30 - Meet at Home Depot at State Street and Hwy 55, near car wash
7:45 - leave for trailhead
9:15 - arriving at trailhead
9:45 - begin walk
12:00- 12:15 finish hike and go to lunch
3:30 - Return to Home Depot
