Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we walk from Long Bay to Okura River and return
🟡 Some words to Inspire you:
This coastal walk from Long Bay to the Ōkura River is a classic AGT favourite, offering wide‑open views, rugged shoreline, and a real sense of escape close to the city.
We follow the beach and clifftop sections north, passing rock platforms, small bays, and birdlife along the way. The final stretch opens out to the Ōkura estuary, a peaceful spot for a break before we return via the coast.
Expect a mix of sand, formed track, and some uneven coastal terrain. A great social walk with plenty of scenery and fresh sea air.
Duration: About 3-4 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 8-10 km.
Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Cost for Car Poolers: $10 - Please pay the driver your car pooling contribution in cash at Freemans Bay, otherwise you may not be able to come.
