A Sunday loop around the glorious Epping Forest!
Meet: Starting from Chingford overground station, and finishing back here. IF the trains decide not to run on this day, then I'll have to change the route plan to be a different area or a different day (this went live 5th Feb so hard to know!)
Distance: 22km / 13.7miles
Time: 3 hours, possibly a little more depending on how wet the forest is
We'll be mixing it up with some main paths and some forest paths to help you with trail running's variety of terrain - and this could also mean slippy mud.
This will be a chatty pace, probably 7.30min/km or even slower as we will have undulating hills. We'll take time to stop for some replenishment (we'll past High Beech café, but please bring snacks in case there's a huge queue!) and we'll stop for toilets.
If you don't fancy running the whole thing, or you're unsure if you can manage it, you can peel off half way to take transport from Epping underground instead. Send a message if you'd like clarity on the area and the options if you've never visited before.
Please PLEASE dress appropriately for the weather. This means if it's wet out, a rain jacket plus at least one dry layer (in a dry bag) in your bag for your travels after. Preferably a spare change of socks too. If dry and/or sunny, then sunglasses and/or cap (there are some sections of the forest that are exposed).
Trail shoes very much preferable. Some Epping paths are gravelly tracks, but mud is unavoidable there.
