This ride has two options: c40km or c80km. Your choice!
🚂 Train to Ware. From 09:42 from Stratford, 09:47 from Lea Bridge or 09:53 from Tottenham Hale. The train arrives in Ware at 10:33. We start riding at 10:45.
🗺️ The route is mostly on country lanes. The first c40km is to Saffron Walden where we stop for coffee and cake. From Saffron Walden there are two options: either ride back to Ware via a different route to take the total ride c80km or ride to Audley End station (3.5km from the cafe).
☕️ The normal café stop is Waffle and Coffee in Saffron Walden. They have bike racks outside.

🔐 Saffron Walden is not a hotspot of crime but it’s best to bring a lock if you can so you can secure the bike whilst you gorge on waffles.
🚂 Return trains to Stratford from Ware are two an hour. Return trains from Audley End to Liverpool Street are also two an hour.
🚗 The ride is mostly country lanes and minor roads but with a short section on a busier road leaving and entering Ware. Depending on the size of the group we will need to take care here.
🚵 Most of the hilly bits are in the second half after the cafe stop but all of the route is fairly undulating so a nice test for the legs. There is a cheeky little hill out of Ware at the beginning to get your legs warmed up!
🚲 This is a moderate pace ride. Probably average between 20 and 22km/h depending on the group. But no one will be dropped.
Because this ride can be 40km or 80km it suits a lot of people. There’s lots of nice scenery and a chance to breath fresh air and the smells of the countryside 💩🤣. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
