Join the Great Malden Outdoors and friends for a Black History Month tribute trail run commemorating Matthew Henson, the first Black man, and one of the first humans, to reach the North Pole in 1909.

Following the run/walk, participants will have the option to make their way to Malden City Hall, 215 Pleasant St., Malden, MA 02148, where National Geographic Historian and journalist James Edward Mills will give a presentation about Henson:
Most of our events involve running and exercise that may cause injury – you participate at your own risk.

Images and videos may be captured during our events. By participating in our events, you agree that photos & videos of you may be published online: on our Facebook page, website, Instagram account or other media and publicity material.
3.
Any personal belongings brought to an event are left entirely at the participant's own risk. There is no secure bag drop, and due to the nature of the events, not all baggage can be kept secure at all times.
