About
🧗 INTRO TO CLIMBING: SHEFFIELD
Want to give climbing a go? Would you like to do it as part of a plus size group? This intro to climbing event is being run by Cat from Latitude 534 to give you an opportunity to try climbing in a safe and supportive environment.
Climbing is a really fun activity to try, and climbing indoors on a wall, you will be securely attached to a rope while you climb. We won’t ask you to do anything that you aren’t comfortable with, but there will be an opportunity to have a go, try it out, and see how you like it. There will be no pressure to get "to the top", just a chance to become familiar with whats involved in climbing, especially the harnesses.
Please be aware climbing does have some standing around, waiting to have a turn, so please be prepared for some hanging around and good conversation!
Together we will show you how to put on harnesses, how to attach to the rope and how to have a go at climbing, or refresh your memory if you’ve done it before. You will be completely safe at every point, you don’t have to go any higher that you want, and you can stay for as long or as little as you want. We will provide a supportive and welcoming space to go climbing with other plus size people. Let go climbing!
ABOUT THE TEAM
Cat is a qualified climbing instructor who has run lots of walking events for EBO in the past, and she will be joined by Roxy who is a huge supporter and ally of EBO and an experienced climber.
