About
Welcome to The New Forest! Join us on a run around the well known Wilverley Plain and Inclosure - home of the Brockenhurst Parkrun winter route. This route takes in the beautiful mix of fauna and forest. Usually graced with horses and the odd coo, you can be sure to have an enjoyable run taking in all the delights of the New Forest.
With the trails being moderately smooth and generally covered with a gravel surface, the route is suitable for all levels of Trail Runner. But beware, the trails can and do get wet and muddy, and don’t be fooled there are certainly some short, steep slopes hidden amongst the flora and fauna. Social, chatty run with plenty of stops if needed. Dogs encouraged.
Difficulty: Fast, flat & sometimes technical - a great beginner course for new trail runners
Footwear: Mix of gravel track and muddy trail so suitable for Cross Trail Shoes but it can still be a bit wet and muddy in places.
Clothing: Please check the weather prior to attending. Wrap up for the cold and bring a headtorch for the darker evenings. During the summer, please make sure you’re prepared for the possibility of ticks and bring appropriate water and fuelling if needed.
New Forest Code: Please familiarise yourself with the New Forest Code and adhere to it at all times so that we can continue to enjoy these runs together:
