Nestled in the heart of England the Maverick Chilterns Half Marathon Trail Run really delivers on all levels. You will find yourself winding through ancient woodland, steeped in history with incredible views over the surrounding Chiltern Hills AONB.
Whilst running you will be greeted with the sound of Red Kites soaring high above. You will find yourselves running on various famous routes such as the Icknield Way, which is one of the oldest roads in Britain, it consists of Prehistoric pathways, already old when the Romans set foot upon it. It survives now as splendid green lanes.
The route starts off by climbing up to Whiteleaf Hill, where you will see the famous white leaf chalk cross, and again stunning views of the surrounding area. A section of the long route takes you to a viewpoint where you can see the famous 16th-century country home of the prime minister “Chequers".
All paces welcome - we will hike the hills, chat, take pictures and eat lots of snacks! I will provide the gpx of the route nearer to the time or you can check it out on the Maverick Race page here: https://www.maverick-race.com/products/the-maverick-chilterns-trail-run-2026
We will probably be longer than 3 hours so you can park on residential streets but if doing this please park responsibly or there is another car park called The Mount Car Park which charges £1.70 for 4 hours or £2.70 for 6 hours.
