We'll return to this beautiful area in 2026. Hopefully they will not close it again due to staff shortages like they did in 2025 .....
We'll be camping along the lake, and we will be close to great hiking and MTB trails. Usually, we stay at the 7 Points campground, but the good sites are impossible to get. I stayed at this campsite in 2024 and was very satisfied with it. We also have at least 3 spots right on the water and can use the showers of 7 Points (that are a circa 10 minute drive away).
3 campsites enable is to place 6 tents on them from Thursday to Sunday right on the water. You can come for 2 or 3 nights.
If you are interested in coming along then please PM me and tell me when you will come and whether or not you plan to share your tent with a friend; if there is space I will then ask you to Venmo or Paypal me $50 per tent. Note that you pay per tent even if you have 2 or 3 inside your tent but if you bring a huge tent then you may have to pay double since then there won't be space for 2 tents on one site. I will let you know at least a month before the event which site will be assigned to you. We have sites 55, 56 and 58. If you want/need to book yourself go to this site:

On this site you can also see a map of the sites. On Friday we'll have a short hike or you can go mountain biking. On Saturday we could a short and a long hike (depending on who shows up and is willing to lead). On Sunday you can do whatever.
When you sign up for this activity you agree to release and hold me, Philly Adventure Group, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania harmless from any and all liability arising from participation in the activity.
Here is the detailed plan:
On Thursday night we cook something simple at the campsite.
On Friday we'll hike a bit around the Allegrippis Trails, where they have the MTB trails. If you bring your MTB then you can ride there.
Afterwards we will look for firewood on the way back to the campsite for Friday and Saturday nights. We'll have group dinners on those nights unless we want to go to the nearby Marina.
On Saturday at 10am we'll carpool and drive 15 minutes to the Trough Creek State Park. There you'll have the option to do a 5 mile or a 10+mile hike. There are all kinds of trails such as the Horsefly trail, Brook trail, Terrace Mountain trail, and the Laurel Run trail. The 10+ mile hike can be as long as 17 miles if people are up for it.
We'll leave the program for Sunday open.
If the weather is much better on Friday than on Saturday then we'll hike do the longer hike on Friday.
Bring your mountain bike if you plan to MTB.
What to bring: Plenty of water for during the hike, for washing dishes and washing yourself. It may be cold so an R4 rated mattress and a good sleeping bag are highly recommended. Also bring a chair, picnic table, enough food, drinks and snacks for you. We should be able to BBQ food on the fires. Also bring trash bags and a good attitude! Bring plenty of water for the hike.
