Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we walk from the NZ Maritime Museum to Meadowbank using the Te Ara ki Uta ki Tai boardwalk, returning on the train.

Discover the ultimate urban crossing by conquering this stunning 12-kilometre trail from Viaduct Harbour to Meadowbank.
This scenic trek tests your legs on the panoramic heights of Paritai Drive, weaves around Hobson Bay, and dives into the rich cultural landscape of the Pourewa Walkway before entering the quiet, bird-filled native canopy of Kepa Bush.
After completing your journey along the sweeping Te Ara ki Uta ki Tai boardwalk, take a relaxing train ride from Meadowbank to Britomart to wrap up the day at Slattery & Sons on Quay Street.
It’s a 11 kilometre adventure that blends maritime heritage, Māori identity, and urban landscapes, ending with a sense of connection between Auckland’s coast and communities.
Duration: About 3 - 4 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 11-12 km.
Difficulty: 2.0 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Toilets: At the NZ Maritime Museum Cafe and along the way.

No car pooling will be organised for this hike. Please use Public Transport or park at the Downtown Carpark.

🟡 Walk Description & Directions:
Walk from NZ Maritime Museum along Tamaki Drive cutting up to Paritai Drive at the corner of Ngapipi Road then returning to Ngapipi to loop around to Kepa Road and find he entrance to Purewa walkway opposite Coates Avenue.
Weave through the walkway then back up to Kepa Road to find the entrance to Kepa Bush opposite Kurahaupo Street.
Follow the tracks through the bush to come out on the shared walkway turning right to return to Meadowbank Train Station.
Train to Britomart then walk back up Quay Street to Slattery & Sons.
