Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we walk from the CBD to Onehunga in Auckland - The famous Auckland Coast to Coast.
🟡 Some words to Inspire you: Walking Auckland’s Coast to Coast is a journey through the city’s heart, from the Waitematā Harbour to the Manukau.
Along the way, trekkers climb volcanic cones, wander leafy parks, and trace historic paths that reveal Auckland’s diverse landscapes and stories. It’s a challenge that blends fitness, discovery, and camaraderie, making each step a shared adventure.
The day culminates in an after‑function at The Rusty Morris, where hikers gather to celebrate with food, drinks, and laughter.
Duration: About 4 - 5 hours hike including stops. Distance: Approx 18 - 21 km. Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Toilets: Use the cafe or along the way.
🟡 Carpooling:
 No car pooling will be organised for this hike. Best car parking is the Downtown Car Park. $15. You need your AT Card or Credit card for the return journey.

14:30 - Hike Finishes (Approx) 14:30 - 15:30 - The Rusty Morris (Optional) 16:30 - Arrive back at CBD (Train or Bus)

🟡 Walk Description & Directions: Starting from Maritime Museum head along Quay Street turning right into Britomart Place and into Emily Place to climb up to Princes Street towards the University turning left into Alfred Street and down Grafton Road crossing over to walk up Lower Domain Drive until you find the entrance to Lovers Walk. Head up towards the Duck ponds and then follow the path towards the Domain grandstand and over the hill past Outhwaite Park towards Grafton Train Station (turn back point).
Follow Mountain Road towards Mt Eden and turn right into Clive Road then left into Puhi Huia Road, following it clockwise around the summit (choose whether you climb to the top) then take the bush path down to Owens Road. Walk to the end of Owens Road then turn into Gillies Ave following it until Melville Park turning into Kimberley Road and crossing into Cornwall park following Puriri Drive then Pohutakawa Drive then Twin Oak Drive through the park (choose whether you summit One Tree Hill) before exiting from Grand Drive into Onehunga Mall.
Turn right into Trafalgar Street then left at No. 117 cafe and into Jellicoe Park emerging at Hill Street and following it until Church Street turning right to reach Onehunga Bay - the opposite coast.

To catch the 30 bus back to the city - walk to the Onehunga Transport Centre.
