MONDAY FUNDAY! These are sessions with some hill work in them, but also some great city views.
They're a good starting point for those about to take on trail races as it forces you to try the hills when you don't really want to! But is also a great session to push your comfort zone with the support (and motivation) of others.
From Highgate Station we'll go briefly into Queen's Wood and along back streets to Ally Pally for some hills, then use the Parkland Walk highline to get back to Highgate station (6.5km). There's the option to head back down the Parkland Walk to Finsbury Park for an additional 3.5km as run leader Steph has to go that way!
Meet: Highgate Station (Priory Place exit)
Pace: 07:30mins/km usually, and this one is hilly so walking is acceptable but is a session to push your comfort if you can
Elevation: 81m ascent / 149m descent
Distance: Option of 6.5km for Highgate loop, or 10km if you come towards Finsbury Park
Gear: Trail shoes recommended for this one if you have them, just because this can offer more comfort on the forest floor and gravel tracks, but road shoes can suffice as there's also tarmac. TORCH REQUIRED. Something reflective/light also useful.
No bag drop. Bring water and snacks as required!
P.S. If you're cycling, there are racks at Highgate Station.
