MONDAY FUNDAY! Speedwork.
Meet at Finsbury Park Station (outside Pret) for a 1.6km warm up to the Emirates Stadium. After some standard running drills where we'll probably look very silly but will warm up even more, we'll then do a few laps of the stadium (800m each) exploring various speed drills. You can also use it as an opportunity to do your own speed session to whatever your plan says, but with the motivation and support of others. We'll then do a cool down run of 1.6km back to Finsbury Park (or you can leave from there if it's better for you).
The timing gives 1 hour 15 so that we have time for check ins and rests in between the warm up, laps and cool down. We're not on a track but we'll treat it as a track session.
You may also wonder why a speed session for a trail running club. The stop starting really tires your body out so understanding how to build stamina, as well as cardio fitness for hills is invaluable.
Meet: Finsbury Park station, outside Pret (not City North Place exit).
Gear: Road shoes absolutely fine as it's all tarmac. Bring water and snacks please. Torch not required but could be useful if you're travelling home alone, otherwise at least something reflective/lights for the streets.
No bag drop.
