MONDAY FUNDAY - Hampstead Heath Hills 5km / 8km
Mon, Nov 10, 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM GMT
Gospel Oak Railway Station, Gordon House Road, London, UK

About
Starting and finishing at Gospel Oak station, we'll head onto the Heath and take on the Parliament Hill "spider" - of sorts. Some ups and downs with many summits of Parliament Hill from various directions.
And if folk really want to push themselves, there's the option of also going to do a lap of Swain's Lane (up) + Highgate Hill (down).
This is a really great route for those looking to do more countryside trail running or races. To those that say London doesn't have hills, well here are some! They're punchy enough to get your heart pumping, but also relatable to the non-urban setting that you should feel able to walk and recuperate as needed.
These Monday Funday sessions are about the building blocks of trail running, and here we cover lots! Night running, mix of terrain, hills, inevitable roads!
Distance: 5km (just Heath) or 8km (including Swain's)
Elevation: 165m up, 165m down
Gear: Trail shoes would be recommended for the heath due to the differing terrain, but you probably could get away with road shoes due to there still being lots of tarmac. No bag drop! Torch absolutely essential!
Meet: Outside Gospel Oak Overground Station (this is well lit)
Pace: Usually 7:30mins/km, but with hills we'll ensure there's breathing time and opportunity to walk if required, so set aside an hour (or 1.20ish if we go for a longer route).
Toilets: Only the woods!
