Rachel Collette Danczyk, MD, RPVI, FACS
Dr. Rachel Danczyk. “My name is Rachel Danczyk and I am a vascular surgeon and athlete who has tried many hobbies including running (trail and road), climbing, biking of all sorts including downhill MTB, who ultimately found triathlon after some injuries associated with running specifically. I have a passion for fitness and personal growth and have recently started a journey with HRT myself along with counseling some of my more athletic female patients through the process of ageing and perimenopause. I have been a practicing vascular surgeon since 2015 in New Mexico, first at the VA and now at the University of New Mexico. I am a mom, partner and dog lover and as many of us do, I wear a lot of hats every day, making recovery and rest just as important as training and being productive in my professional life. I hope I can share some data regarding the risks and benefits of HRT with my friend, Dr. Patty Schmaedeke, along with some more personal stories regarding difficulties finding perimenopause providers, trusting yourself, and ultimately finding a path forward on whatever journey you choose!”
Patty Schmaedeke. MD
Dr. Patty Schmaedeke. “I am a family physician, currently providing primary care for the University of New Mexico Medical Group. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1995, and completed residency from U of MN Department of Family Practice and Community Health in 1998. I practiced traditional family medicine in a small community in MN, with a busy OB practice, for 7 years before relocating to Florida. Spent nearly 20 years with Watson Clinic in Lakeland, FL doing primary care and provided urgent care services. I moved to Albuquerque in January of this year, and continue to build my practice here.
I have a passion for fitness, and have been a triathlete since 2009. I’m a 9x Ironman finisher. Love the journey and the friendships I have forged through multisport!”
