🌵 Protecting Sacred Lands: Giant Rock Cleanup
Saturday, January 31 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Giant Rock, Landers, CA
Join SGVRC and Positional Projects for the Stories & Stewardship event with action and appreciation! We’ll clean up trash, remove graffiti, and celebrate the cultural and artistic legacy of this incredible desert landmark.
🎨 Why It Matters:
This is more than a cleanup — it’s about giving back to the lands we love while uplifting the stories and significance of Giant Rock.
•
Gloves (trash grabbers will be provided)
•
Sunscreen, hat, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt
🥪 Lunch provided by Positional Projects!
🚽 Porta Potties available Friday and Saturday during event hours.
🏕️ Optional Grafitti removal prep & Camping:
Come out Friday at 3pm to help with prepping the sight for graffiti removal. There will be Stories & Songs with Kim Marcus in the Vortex Friday at 7 PM. Afterwards, camp under the stars and be ready for the next days clean up! Camping is free but primitive — no facilities, so pack it in, pack it out. Or, if you prefer, stay in nearby Joshua Tree where there are many hotels to pick from.
Let’s represent SGVRC with heart and hands — see you out there!
SGVRC is rolling out from the Joshua Tree Charging Outpost at Saturday morning 8 AM—come early to charge and caravan in with us! ⚡️🚙
