Registration 8-8.45am Brief 8.45-9am Start 9am.
The first peak is Twmbarlwm height 419m, followed by Mynydd Y Lan 381 meters and finally Machen Mountain which comes in at 362 metres.
The terrain for this walk will be a mixture of concrete road, canal, moutain roads, trail paths, moorland, and forestry tracks. We will have to cross main roads and a railway path.
Please also take note of the Minimum Required Kit below. You must bring this with you with you on the day. If you do not bring the minimum required kit, you will be turned away and you will not be refunded the cost of the hike. This is for your safety and comfort, so we thank you for your cooperation:
Appropriate hiking boots or shoes (trail trainers are appropriate but fashion trainers are NOT acceptable. They need to have grip. Waterproof jacket Hat/buff. We also suggest that you carry the below:
Small rucksack
sensible layers for walking in (e.g a non- cotton base layer, fleece and sensible trousers - no denim).
Water proofs (jacket and trousers) even if forecast is dry as these will prevent heat evaporation if you need to stop due to injury.
spare warm layer (in addition to what you are wearing)
water
food/snacks to sustain you
foil survival bag in case of injury.
whistle
basic first aid supplies including blister plasters.
