We’re heading to Dumont Dunes, nature’s ultimate sandbox — a breathtaking desert playground perfect for exploring, learning, and pushing your Rivian’s limits on the sand.
Whether you’re brand new to dunes or a seasoned sand rider, we’ll help you feel confident and in control. With wide open terrain, gentle rolling dunes, and stunning views in every direction, Dumont has adventure waiting around every ridge.
🛞 All Rivian configurations, wheels, and experience levels are welcome! Also welcome any and all non-Rivian sand toys, 4x4's, friends and family to join.

Camp right on the sand! Dumont Dunes is BLM land with open camping, vault toilets, and incredible starlit skies.
Be prepared — there’s no running water or electricity, so bring your own gear and supplies for a true off-grid desert experience.
⛅️ Weather: Avg High Temp around 59°F (15°C) & Low Temp around 33°F 🥶 (1°C) at night, often dipping near or slightly below freezing. Pack layers, warm gear, an extra sleeping bag, comforter or electric blanket just in case. It can get windy, pack tie-downs, stakes, lag screws & sandbags for anything that can blow away.

Tecopa, CA (22 miles): RV park, small hot spring spa resorts, and Airbnbs
