Full Moon Paddle and Cookout at Hyalite - 2026

Full Moon Event  - 2 nights
Arrive 2pm or later Aug 25  to set up camp and socialize & recreate as people wish, or just come up for the day to join the cookout and full moon paddle

This will be about the 7th year we have done this popular event.

Paddling in the Dark  

Fun things and events with mostly sea kayaks.  We have a lot of experience.  

We switched to Heylo from Meetup, still transitioning a few things and members over.

We like to get out for easy paddling on the various lakes and rivers in Montana and beyond, and enjoy the fresh air and Montana scenery! Our events are often 2-3 day local or regional camping or cabin stays, in addition to local day trips. We are volunteers who enjoy the company of other paddlers, campfire dinners and socializing.

Our members' hard shell kayaks tend to be 10' to 16' in length which allow for carrying food and extra clothes. On lakes our quiet paddling sometimes gives us great views of wildlife. On rivers we occasionally need to dodge rocks or handle some riffles/light rapids, but we are not "white water" paddlers, we look for the more gentles stretches which are plentiful in this area.

Annual dues cover incidentals for our events, software fees and organizer insurance. 

Competition for waterfront campsites has become intense which is why we plan a year in advance for many events. Organizers use their own credit cards for these and group members reimburse via events fees.
