Anybody who was at our Popup Gaeltacht last Sunday will know that I mentioned starting a Club Leabhar (Reading / Book Club) starting next month. This will be online (Zoom) starting on Tuesday 7th October from 7 - 8:15 PM and run on a weekly basis. The book will of course be an Irish language text. I am going to start off with Oscar Wilde’s An Prionsa Sona (The Happy Prince). The idea is that each person participating will read a paragraph or two and then attempt translation. Do not worry that you may not understand the text fully - we can all work together and I will always come to the rescue when anybody gets stuck. The standard will not be too high.
This is a great opportunity to consolidate your Irish learning, and it will make you feel that you are getting somewhere when you can read a text.
You do not need to buy any book at this stage - I will provide a PDF version to you for our first book. Please let me know if you are interested by sending your email address to me () - I will need this to send you the book and a weekly Zoom invite. Please ONLY sign up if you can commit to participating on most Tuesdays. If the event is oversubscribed I will only be able to accept the first 12 persons.
