Join Sussex Trail Runners for a challenging and rewarding 19.45 km (12 miles) trail run through some of the most dramatic landscapes the South Downs has to offer. With 695 meters (2,280 feet) of elevation gain, this route packs in plenty of climbs, views, and varied terrain.
Starting near Devil’s Dyke, we’ll traverse the open ridgelines towards Beeding Hill, wind through the remote and peaceful trails of Adder Bottom, and make our way up to Thundersbarrow Hill for breathtaking views stretching from the Downs to the sea.
Expect a mix of steep ascents, flowing chalk paths, and wide-open downland, perfect for building strength and soaking in some of Sussex’s finest trail scenery.
