About
This event will feature a discussion of Books V, VI, and VII of Plato’s Republic. After hearing criticism of his ideal city presented in Books II-IV, Plato’s Socrates offers up some solutions before delving into a discussion as to why philosophers must rule. This leads to a discussion of Plato’s philosophy more generally, including his famous Allegory of the Cave.
This meeting will take place on Thursday October 2 6:30-8 PM at Cafe Nero Millenium Place 560 Washington Street Boston, MA. If you missed the last meeting where we discussed Books I-IV you should be perfectly fine to catch up and join the conversation.
