Greetings Everyone - Join us on Sunday as we walk along the famous Putaruru Blue Springs which has just recently reopened after new boardwalks have been installed. We will stop at Cambridge and do the Settlers Track along the Waikato River.
🟡 Some words to Inspire you: The Putaruru Blue Springs Walk—a gentle 5km trail—offers a serene start to the day, winding alongside lush riverbanks toward some of the clearest water in New Zealand. With native bush, boardwalks, and photogenic bridges, it’s a perfect blend of beauty and ease.
On the return to Auckland, we’ll pause in Cambridge for a second scenic stroll: the Settlers Track at Lola Silcock Park. This riverside path follows the Waikato, offering peaceful views and a chance to unwind before heading home. Two relaxed walks, rich in nature and conversation—ideal for connecting with others and soaking up the best of the region.
Duration: About 3-4 hours hike including stops. Distance: Approx 6-8 km. Difficulty: 2.0 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Cost for Car Poolers: $40 - Please pay the driver cash at Freemans Bay, otherwise you may not be able to come.
Toilets: Along the way and the at the Blue Springs

 Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.
 Comfortable shoes suitable for a variety of terrains. Sun protection and emergency rain gear. Personal first-aid items

 Safety and togetherness are our priorities. We will make stops at all track junctions to ensure the group stays together.
Punctuality is key, and we will depart on time, so please be prompt.
