About
So I know this is the SEATTLE Super Saunter, but something I’ve been curious about is if other cities in the region would be interested in something like the Super Saunter. We live in a great city to explore on foot but also in a great region and thought maybe doing a big walk outside the city could be a great way to encourage folks to walk, take transit, build community, and appreciate the region we call home.
So since we went West (Seattle) last time it’s time to go East. We hope you all will join us for the Eastside Escapade on September 6th beginning at around 9am from Downton Bellevue park. We will then head up to Kirkland, walk along the Eastrail and the Sammamish River trail, before passing through Redmond to get to (most likely) Postdoc brewing near Marymoor park.
In total the journey should be about 18 miles with a few stops along the way. Similar to other Saunters there are options for folks to use transit to join or depart part of the way through at around Mile 5 and Mile 9 from the Kirkland and Totem Lake Transit centers. Additionally folks will be able to take the recently opened 2-line back to Bellevue given we will finish right next to a light rail station.
I think the highlight of this route is going to be the trails on this route and we will get to see some of the best multi-purpose trails in the county!
Hope to see you there and can find out more here:
