This club favourite to the Parc National de la Mauricie, will hopefully fall in the peak of fall colour splendour! We are choosing a Tuesday since the weekends can be just too crowded and we want to maximize our experience.
As well as forests of conifers and hardwoods, the Parc National de la Mauricie will treat you to touches of azure: the Park has more than 150 lakes of various sizes. Hear the haunting cries of the common loon and admire the pools of water at the footp of waterfalls. We will slide through loads of lovely twistees on the way there, with a few more on the way back.
This ride is a club favourite in the fall. As the Park is not close and we are doing this in 1 day, we will leave early @ 7am and do about an hour by highway in order to get out of the city and spend our time on the lovely Eastern Laurentian roads leading to the Parc. Bring your PicNic lunch and bug spray as we will eat in the Parc.
Expect a full day with almost 4 hours of riding to get there and 3 hours 30 minutes to return with a bit more highway. We will pass through painfully quaint towns such as Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, Saint-Paulin, Saint-Elie-de-Caxton and more.
There is an entrance fee which the club will cover.
